Wellcome back to our website. Today we are going to review everything that we did, visited and saw during this incredible summer.
Slovenia, Izola
We started off our vacation by visiting the beautiful Slovenian coastline. We stayed in an apartment in Izola ( a town on the coast ) for three days. During our stay we did different things each day. The first day that we spent there was actually just half a day since we arrived to Izola in the afternoon. We went to get some food at a local pizzeria called Casa della Pizza that coincidentally had awards for the 1st best and 3rd best pizza in Slovenia. We were pleasantly surprised since the quality of the food was extraordinary and the prices were average for all restaurants ( around 14euros/pizza ). After that we went to the local beach where we spent the rest of the day. We were very excited for day 2 on which we visited the Moon Bay in Strunjan. There we walked to the wildly picturesque beach where we went swimming, snorkelling, sunbathing,... It's also the place where we saw one of the most beautiful sunsets. On the 3rd and last day we took to the streets of Izola and discovered many photo worthy spots. After we had lunch in a local restaurant next to the marina called Morski Val where we ate incredible fresh bream baked in the oven alongside some vegetables.
Slovenia, Bohinj
After the three day ''mini-vacation'' we came back to Ljubljana. About a day or two later we decided that the next best thing to do was to go to Lake Bohinj and later stay for one night in a near by camp. At the lake we rented some paddle boards and a kayak to explore and cruise around. When not paddling, our time was spent by sunbathing and/or fishing. Hunger and thirst was not a problem since before departing we bought food and drinks which were kept in a cooler.
After the day at the lake we headed to the near by Camp Danica Bohinj where we set up the tent and had dinner in their restaurant which was incredible. After dinner we went to our tent where we inflated our bed. Later we realised that the inflatable bed was too big for the tent. We deflated the bed in order to fit it inside of the tent. Sleeping on it was something of an adventure itself since when one of us moved the other one was propelled of the bed and woken by the movement. Here is what our tent looked like...
We didn't get much sleep because of a big thunderstorm that carried on for most of the night. Our bed being too big didn't help either since we couldn't fully close the tent door. The gap that was left open let in a good amount of rain which led to our blanket getting wet. The night was funny but also scary as some of the lightning struck close to our location. We woke up around 8am and headed to the breakfast at the campsite restaurant. After breakfast we got in our car and headed home to Ljubljana. We decided on leaving because of the non stop rain.

Greece, Corfu
Finally the heavily awaited trip came. On the first day we flew there and got our rent a car which we drove to the hotel we stayed at. Since we arrived in the afternoon we just headed to the closest beach called Acharavi Beach where we rented beach chairs for only 3euros/person for the whole day. There we played cards, went swimming, sunbathed,...
On day two we went to the old city centre where we walked around and enjoyed the mix of old Venetian and greek architecture. While exploring the town we also wandered into the shops posted up next to the street and bought stuff which made us look like the typical tourists.
After the walk we headed to the rocky Nisaki Beach where we laid back and relaxed in the beautiful greek sun and later cooled down with a swim in the Aegean sea. In the evening we headed back to our hotel from where we later departed in search of a restaurant. Wanting to experience unique Greek cuisine, we wandered into a local tavern called Theritas Tavern owned by Dimitris, a very pleasant owner/waiter/everything the restaurant needs. You can really feel the family vibe in the restaurant which is accompanied by excellent food and very friendly service. I can not say enough good things about it only that if you are in Corfu, you should definitely visit them and just enjoy in the ambient. Click here to see their website.
Day three had a slow and sleepy start. We went to breakfast and back to bed where we rested and edited a couple of videos for the instagram page. After we went to the store where we bought some food and snacks for the adventure that we had in plan. In the afternoon we headed to the little known Giali Beach which is in our opinion one of the most beautiful, if not the most, places on the island. When we got there we hiked and climbed down the cliff for about 30min till getting to the beach. There our time was used up by laying in the sun, swimming, snorkelling and eating snacks. Some time before the sunset we decided to head back to the car and to the hotel as to not get stuck hiking back in the dark.
Day four was packed full of interesting views. We visited the Old Venetian Fortress in the city which is located on a hill overlooking the two sides of the nearby bay therefore giving the fortress a very good strategic position in the olden days. The visit only cost us 3euros/person for the entrance fee with no further costs. After seeing all the fortress had to offer, we moved on to more relaxed activities which was going to the beach and snorkelling, swimming and so on. We finished of the day by going on a romantic dinner at our favourite restaurant in Corfu, Theritas tavern.
Have you ever seen a sunset so incredible that you were amazed for days on after? That is what we saw on day five at Logas Beach. The sheer beauty of the colours that the sunset offered left us in awe. If visiting Corfu, definitely go to Logas and experience it for yourself.
Thinking that we were leaving the best for last, we headed to Canal d'Amour on our last full day on the island where we saw that all things are not as they seem. The beach was small and beautiful but much much overcrowded. It had strangers literally laying next to each other, leaving no space in-between. That is when we decided to head to the next nearest beach and spend our time there. To be honest we were a little disappointed but we made it work since we had some cards and snacks with us for a better time. After a couple of hours we headed to lunch and in the afternoon before having to pack our bags we went to a beach close to our hotel for a quick swim and ended up staying longer than intended because of 5 big fish that amazed us by swimming around our feet. They seemed to be attracted to our location because of the sand that we kicked up while walking in the water. After that, dinner was necessary and we headed to Theritas once more for the last time where we had the a great night.
The next day we flew back home.
Germany, Stuttgart
A couple of days after we headed to Germany to visit family and stay for a couple of days. The most adventury/lusshviewsy thing we did there was visit Esslingen which is a beautiful, picturesque old German town where almost all of the buildings and houses are built in the old German style. It was truly beautiful! We also had a unique experience because of the car we drove. As you know, Stuttgart is the home of Mercedes-Benz and it only seems appropriate to drive one of their sports cars. We had the oportunity to drive THIS for a week. It was AWESOME!!
Well thank you very much for reading our little summer recap. I hope you clicked on some of the links as well and checked out the videos on our Instagram and YouTube. Hope you enjoyed your summer too. Have a great October and spooky season and take care! Till next time, LuSShviews family.
